Field Trips
At BECS, we believe that immersive experiences cultivate curiosity and lead to what we like to call "sticky learning", or learning that sticks! One way we plan to provide these experiences is through field trips. Your child's teacher will be communicating through Parent Square about what specific trips are planned and when. Generally, we try to schedule our outdoor trips in October, November, March and April and our indoor field trips in December, January and February. Because we believe these field trips are so important to student learning, we plan to have at least one per experience room. When you enrolled your child, you completed a permission form for these field trips. Some locations have additional forms that may need to be completed prior to your child's visit.
Although several of the trips are free, there are some that come with a small fee. The total cost of entry for all field trips comes to $50 for the school year. Families will receive an invoice through My School Bucks mid-September, with the first payment of $25 due on October 1st and the second payment due in January. If you are concerned about your family’s ability to afford the fees for these trips, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
If you are interested in attending field trips with your child or assisting as a chaperone, please complete the BISD volunteer application.
